Position Summary

The Material Control Specialist is responsible for material handling operations in support of manufacturing with focus on material kitting, receiving material into stock and issuing it out of stock, material put away and inventory transactions. The position is a member of the Materials Team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to)

  • Inspection and receipt of incoming material against open purchase orders
  • Packaging and shipping of finished goods for customer orders
  • Prepare and process element shop order packets for production
  •  Pick and kit material for shop orders being released to production per the production schedule
  • Stock and maintain material in warehouse in organized and safe manner
  • Correctly issue and return requested material as required for production. Perform transactions in Macola 
  • Maintain membrane inventory in coldroom and dry storage locations, pick and dispense membrane for shop orders 
  • Perform regular cycle counts of raw materials and finished goods.  
  • Perform research and analysis of root causes of inventory inaccuracies. Adjust inventory as needed
  • Verify and end production shop orders for tricot packs, solutions, poly and  membrane daily
  • Move material to and from offsite storage facility as required
  • Review inventory levels of casting chemicals and supplies and provide requisitions to purchasing to place order
  • Use of standard forklift, standup reach truck and electric pallet jacks required 
  • Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
This position requires a High School diploma or equivalent and one (1) to three (3) years material control experience and/or experience in a warehouse environment

Knowledge of:

  • Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Power Point (Project is a plus)
  • Data analysis and statistics
  • SolidWorks, lean manufacturing, six sigma principles, and 5S skills are a plus

Skills and Abilities to:

  • Learn the Macola software
  • Pass manufacturers powerized forklift certification course
  • Operate manual pallet jacks

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have supervisory duties

WORK ENVIRONMENT and PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work is usually performed in a warehouse environment, utilizing standard office and warehouse equipment.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.  While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to sit and use hands. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; lift and/or move up to 30-40 pounds.
